LGBTQ+ Student Support



In a culturally relevant culture, all parts of students’ identities should be valued and seen. Join 2021 Michigan Teacher of the Year Owen Bondono to explore why and how we can support our LGBTQ+ students in the classroom and beyond.

Session Objectives:

  • Articulate why LGBTQ+ students need increased classroom support.
  • Identify what a supportive school looks like.
  • Commit to at least one action that will support LGBTQ+ students.
  • Apply the cycle of continuous improvement to allyship work.
