In this session participants will have an opportunity to interact with materials that will get them thinking about how to grow, sustain and manage teacher leadership. Participants will participate in intentional, engaging activities that will help flesh out leadership skills and legacies. A discussion of a teacher designed and led induction program, currently in use in a district serving 6800 students, will demonstrate that teacher leadership can be grown, sustained, and managed.
Session Objectives:
- Understand the pathway to effective leadership.
- Identify the qualities of an effective teacher leader.
- Reach out to interested parties and form relationships that lead to effective change.
- Use the “No” response to fuel important change.
